Hi WUGgers,
If you are an SAP customer and a member of ASUG, please consider volunteering for the position of Special Interest Group (SIG) chair.
I have included the official ASUG responsibilities, but don’t be intimidated. The real role of the SIG Chair is to distribute a quarterly newsletter and to schedule quarterly (or better) webcasts.
I will always be on hand to help you with these responsibilities.
What’s in it for you, you ask? First off, you can work with me J, but more importantly, you can help ASUG continue to educate and inform customers. There is a lot more to volunteering – I should know, I’ve been doing this for 17 years. But I don’t want to bore the whole list.
Please feel free to reach out to me personally if you are interested, or simply go to http://www.asug.com/volunteers.
What follows are the official Roles and Responsibilities…
SIG Chair Roles and Responsibilities:
Build an Active Year-Round Community (YRC):
Work collaboratively with other SIG Volunteers, your ASUG Communities Coordinator, and SAP Point of Contact (POC) to plan and execute a 12-month YRC calendar
Ensure that the SIG executes at least one educational webcast per quarter
Attend the majority of SIG events
Participate in monthly Standing Leadership Calls
Distribute a SIG newsletter at least once per quarter
Conduct an annual survey with the SIG community to determine the needs of the community
Lead the organization of at least one SIG event or webcast
Recruit speakers and organize logistics for YRC activities
Recommend hot topics that will drive ASUG member participation, both for face-to-face and virtual activities
Assist ASUG HQ in recruiting SIG volunteers by evaluating applicants within two weeks of receiving application
Coordinate with ASUG HQ on the succession and transition of SIG volunteers
Actively Engage with the SIG Community on the ASUG Website:
Update the SIG jump page on ASUG.com monthly with timely and relevant news
Consistently participate in and monitor relevant SIG workspace and discussions area on ASUG.com
Follow the Volunteer Announcements wiki
Read the monthly Leadership Connection newsletter
Play a Key Role at ASUG Annual Conference:
Assist in moderating educational sessions on site
Volunteer in the ASUG Communities Lounge
Make Your Voice Heard on the Influence Advisory Committee (IAC):
Gather and prioritize community needs and report requirements to SAP through the Customer Engagement Initiative (CEI), Customer Connection (CC), and Influence Councils (IC)
Review and promote CEI focus topics and submit additional needs to SAP
Serve as an Influence ambassador to facilitate volunteer and community participation
Assist with Influence Council charter creation
Work with other volunteers to understand and prioritize Influence abstracts for YRC programming
Thanks for considering volunteering with ASUG (and pass this along to others who may be interested too?)
Cheers,
Sue
