Dynamic columns date format

Hi all,

I have created a dynamic column for a containerelement with data-element SYST-DATUM.
I pass a value of type DATS to this container element.

But in my inbox, the date value is shown as 20140401 instead of 01.04.2014.
But the standard column's like creation date work item are shown in the dotted format.

What is going wrong here?

Also, I have this with a DEC field....
