Extended Notifications - Subscription Settings: SHOW_DOCUMENTS_AS/SHOW_OBJECTS_AS

Hello Wuggers,

Has anyone successfully used the SHOW_DOCUMENTS_AS and SHOW_OBJECTS_AS 
Subscription Settings of the extended notifications tool?
What exactly are they for? I was hoping one of them would allow me to 
generate links for the objects & attachments in the workitem.
None of the allowed values seem to make any difference in the generated 
email.
I Was unable to find any documentation in the Help/Support Portals.

I am on SAPKB70211.
