Did you make sure that wf-batch has a sender email address or that at least the email domain is configured in swu3? Just a thought.

Sent from my iPhone with many apologies for the spelling, grammar and any other deficiencies

Hi Jocelyn/Ramki/Rick,

Thanks for your replies. I have checked all the settings as suggested and all seems to be fine.

Jocelyn, I checked the user master record and the communication type is set as INT ( Internet email ).
Rick, I checked the settings in SO16 and they seems to be fine too. The settings are very similar in QA and Production. Emails can be seen in SOST only in Production. But in QA no emails are seen in SOST.

I tried testing the SO_SEND* function module and it sends an email in SOST. So I am assuming that the SCOT settings are fine. I will try to debug the SENDTASKDESCRIPTION and see if I can pick up something from that.

Thanks again, all your help is much appreciated.

Kind Regards,
Vijay

Hi Vijay,
Have you checked the Default Communication Type in the user master? It needs to be Internet Email otherwise it will send the mail to the user’s SAP Office inbox.

Jocelyn

Hi Eddie,

Thanks for your reply and guidance. I have checked the container elements and In the address string there is a valid userid and the user master has a valid email address with the same domain name as configured in SWU3.

The workflow shows completed and the workflow log also shows everything is fine but I don’t see a email in SOST.

Kind Regards,
Vijay

Hi Vijay,

Please make sure that the mail is being sent to a correct user or email address. Check the work item container ADDRESSSTRINGS and see what value it contains…..if it id blank then you need to check where you are getting your recipient from.

Eddie

Hi,

I’ve come across a strange situation where the SENDTASKDESCRIPTION of the object SELFITEM is not sending email. It was working earlier but it has stopped working now. We are on ECC 6.0 version and interestingly it works in QA system but does not work in Production system.

We are using a single task which gets triggered based on an event. We don’t have a workflow as we just need an email notification. So we have one task which has got some description which is built dynamically and the expectation is that the standard functionality will send the task description as an email.

Checked in SWU3 and the --> Maintain Standard Domain for Internet Mail is set up correctly. Everything else seems to be fine in SWU3. Not sure why the emails are not sent out. Any idea what might be missing?

Kind Regards,
Vijay
