SAP Upgradation from 4.7 to ECC-Impact on old work items.

Hi,

That continues to be SAP's recommendation, no doubt just to cover themselves, but my current client's system and it's 3.5 million open Work Items at the time survived the upgrade process pretty well when they upgraded.

There are a few housekeeping programs you need to run to adjust some of the new tables the upgrade will introduce, but overall the disturbance to the Work Items in my experience was pretty minimal.

As I recall the problems we encountered were more to do with standard Data Elements and Structures being deleted by the upgrade and tripping up our WF definitions and container bindings.

If you carry out a trial upgrade on a decent snapshot you'll probably flush out such things for yourself.
