Extended Notification

Hi Experts,

I need to configure the Extended Notification. I have searched sdn and 
found that Transaction SWNADMIN and SWNCONFIG need to be configured.
My questions are..
1. Is mandatory SWNADMIN needs to be configured ?
2. If I configure only SWNCONFIG, Will Extended Notification be worked ?
