How 2 Transport Users

Hi Jocelyn,

Thanks for the response!

I moved the positions via RHMOVE30 and found that the users too got moved.

Then I faced issue where the user assignment to tasks was also found missing. I tried moving the task group via RHMOVE30 but it did not work.

I had to then move each task individually via RHMOVE30 and it finally worked!

Just thought of sharing with you all!

Thanking you in advance.

Much Respect,
Hari

Hi Hari,
Ok – your basic approach for creating the transport request is correct.
However, the critical thing in using RHMOVE30 is which evaluation path you use to derive not just the objects but the relationships between them.
e.g. I use eval path TASKHIER when transporting possible agent assignments to tasks.

Not being a HR specialist I can’t advise on RHMOVE00 or RHALTD00.

Suggest you find a HR consultant to help with understanding the differences between the 3 programs and identifying the correct evaluation path to use. The eval path can vary depending on which system you are using, and how the relationships are defined.

Regards,
Jocelyn

Hi Jocelyn,

Thanks for such a quick response!

I have following questions still in my mind!

1) Since my earlier transport request in development box (say X) already got released and I did not find the user assignment in quality - I went back to the dev system, changed the label of the top org unit and saved it. It then prompted me to enter another customizing request (say Y).

Now - I ran program RHMOVE30 - plan version 01, object - O (for org unit), Org unit id (top most org id) and in the trasnport section - I selected the customizing request Y and then executed it.

Then I got a screen with option (Transport/Delete). I did that and I just got a message - transport request Z created.

When I went to se01 to check - I saw that transport request Z was under Y.

Now - I release the transport requests Z and then Y.

Is this procedure right? Will I now get the org unit with position + all users assigned in quality system too?

2) What is the significance of RHMOVE00 and RHALTD00 then? Should I also run them? Is there a logic/sequence?

Please suggest!

Thanking you in advance.

Much Respect,
HariKranth Bommaraju

Hi Hari,

Yes. Use program RHMOVE30 to add the relevant levels to the transport request.

Also – what you should try is creating one of those users in your target system/client... one of the things that happens with HR is that the relationship to the user id may be transported, but doesn’t become effective unless and until the user id is created.

Jocelyn

Dear WUG

I have created an org structure, assigned position and then assigned set of users in development system and saved them in a customizing transport request.

When I moved this transport request to quality system - only the org structure and the position got moved.

Is there a way to move the users assigned too?!

Br,

Hari
