Extended Notifications

Hi Eddie,

Thanks for an excellent guide, and a good level of technical detail
(underlying tables etc) which will go some way to aid folks in
troubleshooting their setup.

I have two suggestions:
Minor oddity: Since SWNADMIN is the simpler and preferred route,
especially when starting out, why not describe it first?

Slightly bigger: I would expand a little on the SWNADMIN transportability.
In the box on page 5, you called it an "important disadvantage". To me
it's an important advantage, because we usually DO want different
schedules and settings in Dev/QA/PRD.

I would also include a warning that once transported, parameters can no
longer be modified by SWNADMIN (it gives a message to use SWNCONFIG if you
try). I don't know if it's still the case but I got caught out a couple of
years ago when system-specific parameters such as hostname got locked into
SWNCONFIG transports and kept being overwritten every time we did
something as simple as adding a new task onto a schedule. I had a long
discussion with your colleagues in Walldorf about it and they confirmed
this to be correct behaviour - at least back in 7.0 (can get you details
of the message number if you like - email me directly).

Cheers,
Mike
