Offline work item Approval in ECC

Hi All,
        We have a requirement to implement an offline approval mechanism in ECC  similar to the one existing in SRM . Has anybody ever tried replicating the SRM offline functionality in
RSWUWFMLEC in ERP  ? Any information on the  feasibility / pain points etc  would be very helpful  .
