Workitems for IDOC related activity

Ok,This issue was happened for SD module.Atleast can we able to find out weather it's a Sales order or invoice related. Can we able to identify the message type for this using WF?

WE40 is a red herring in my opinion. The code behind it hasn't been  
touched since 2004 or thereabouts.

My earlier advice about your 3 options still stands.
