Link to BUS2009 object not working in workitem

Hi Rick,
That code is just generated because the method has been defined as based on transaction ME53.
But you can override the generated code with your own code anyway - which of course is the point of redefinition.

Jocelyn

Hi Jocelyn,

Thanks for the ideas. I wasn't able to debug because the users who
have the problem don't have debug privileges; if they get the debug
privileges then the problem disappears. I tried debugging as that user
from my own privileged user, but I got the message that the user isn't
allowed to debug!
If anyone knows how to debug a user without chnaging their privileges,
please tell me.

I think I was very careful with my setting of the get/set parameters;
I would always log out and head straight for SBWP after logging in.

Paul's idea about redefining Display (I'd forgotten about the
redefine) has provided another clue.
When I redefine Display in ZBUS2009 and go to edit the method, it says the usual

"Method DISPLAY not yet implemented
Do you want to generate a template automatically for the missing section?"

If I say yes, it creates the method like this:

BEGIN_METHOD DISPLAY CHANGING CONTAINER.
SET PARAMETER ID 'BAN' FIELD OBJECT-KEY-NUMBER.
SET PARAMETER ID 'BAP' FIELD OBJECT-KEY-ITEM.
CALL TRANSACTION 'ME53' AND SKIP FIRST SCREEN.
END_METHOD.

This is exactly the sort of code that would be having the problems
that I'm seeing.
Where does SAP get this code from? It must be stored somewhere or ME53
must be linked somewhere as a default-default method of BUS2009. Maybe
the regular users are somehow fetching that up.

Additionally, when I redefine Display and make it the same as BUS2009
Display, then it still doesn't work!

So, the DISPLAY2 workaround stands.

Keep the ideas coming!
