Executing step in workflow

It is updating a table but I wanted to try to keep it in dialog mode but
without a step before this step it looks like it won't work.

What does the first step do? Does it find an agent?

Hello Bill,

 

Have you tried setting the workflow itself (WS.......) to General Task?
That's needed when you use that fm.
