Executing step in workflow

Yes I did that but I think the problem is that the step is the first
step in the workflow and so has previous reference step so that it can
continue to process.

Hello Bill,
Have you tried setting the workflow itself (WS.......) to General Task?
That's needed when you use that fm.

SAP_WAPI_START_WORKFLOW. The first step is in dialog mode but I have
advance with dialog checked.
The first step does not automatically execute it just stops. If I
execute the workflow by itself and not through the function module it
will execute the first step and continue on to the next step.
Any help ?
