Lock Document while Workflow Processing

    Not sure if this is possible with the document you are processing, and
it does involve additional abap work not strictly workflow.

    1) Check if the document can have status items set, or if it has an
append structure
    2) Set a status or flag on the append structure when the workflow starts
    3) Have a user exit or enhancement on start of editing the document to
check the status or flag, if set display message and only allow display.
    4) When workflow completed remove status or flag.
