Multi-line Element in document from template

Hello workflow gurus,

I have a need to display an incoming electronic invoice to a plant
person in an easily readable format.  Now remember my abap skills are
very limited... I am planning to count the number of items in the data
segment, loop and read them into a multi-line element and then display
the multi-line element on a doc from template.  However, when the
document displays, the lines are running together rather than separating
by line item.  Is there a simple way for me to fix this?
