SAP-WUG Digest, Vol 56, Issue 13

Correct me if I'm wrong, I think we don't need a secondary method for this,
any approval process, there will be link to display the actual document. For
E.g. PO approval will have a PO display option by standard.

Imthiaz

Cristina,
Just further to Mike's comments... Secondary methods will show up as
Required Reading attachments in the UWL - which the user then clicks to
launch. They do not launch automatically.

Hope that 's clear.

Hi Cristiana,

Depending on the skills you have available, I would suggest three
alternatives:
- Use it as is.
- Look at putting all the required info into the work item text.
- Replace the decision with a Web Dynpro or BSP application that
displays
the key PO info with Approve/Reject buttons. This is not as difficult as
it sounds if you have Web Dynpro or BSP skills available in your
company.
Take note that secondary methods won't launch web pages so you will have
to incorporate the decision into the PO display.

Cheers,
Mike

Thanks Mike and Jocelyn.

Yes Jocelyn, I know that the secondary methods are displayed as an
attachment - I have used that before. That's why I was actually asking the
question, i.e. when the user displays the PO, it displays as SAP GUI and
it is not very pretty!

Thanks,

Cristiana

Hi Cristiana,
That's fine... just a reminder but hopefully you also know this one by
now....
You can override the display to point to a web application if and when
you create one using transaction SWFVISU "Object Visualization" - just
remember to Re-Register the system and clear the cache in the UWL admin
afterwards.

Regards,
Jocelyn

Hi Guys,

We are stuck up in a design issue and would like your valuable inputs on
how to handle this situation.

Problem statement:

We need to implement a PO approval workflow for one of our client. The
users who will be approving or rejecting the PO are not SAP users and
hence do not have a SAP user id. So we cannot send the work item to the
users as they don't have a sap user id.

My Question:

In this scenario how do we handle the approval flow? We can send the
users an email from the workflow as the email ids will be maintained in
a Z table. I mean email to the non sap users. But how do we physically
approve or reject the PO. Is there a way to get the signal back from the
user via email?

System:

Our client is on ECC 5.0 version.

Kind Regards,

VJ
