[LIKELY JUNK]RE: Extended Notifications - Delta Pull

Mark,

Thanks for the direction; I was too focused on the backend jobs until
your answer.

Ran the FM and got the return of X and 2 so starting checking other
things. Found some runtime errors were occurring and checked OSS again.

OSS note 1133821 is the solution to the problem.

Tom

The user id was not an issue on the systems I have worked on - I
normally schedule the jobs with WF-Batch.

There is a function which is run by the registration - try UWL*BWF* in
SE37 to find it - which needs to return an X and a 2 for successful
regsitration.

If the function returns the correct entry then the problem is probably
on the Portal side. There are some OSS notes which desribe creating an
RFC destination on the Java AS to connect to the ECC system - this
connection is used by the UWL for registration. Beware - it is case
sensitive.

Hope this helps.

Mark

Hi Mark,

I see you answered my question from below in another Extended
Notifications email.

For you the user id of the job did not matter when setting up?

I was referencing an older blog by Ginger Gatling for this info:

https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/3081
<https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/3081>

Ran RSWNUWLSEL to create entries in configuration and then scheduled 2
jobs to run same program.

On the UWL Admin side:

Set the Delta Pull Refresh period to 60 seconds

Set the Delta Pull Snapshot period to 1440 minutes

Am still getting this error message so must be missing something else?

SAP ECC 6.0

Thanks,

Tom

Group,

Since Extended Notifications is the topic of the week.

I have done all the configuration for Extended Notifications Delta Pull
but still get this portal message:

'The backend of system SAP_ECC_HumanResources is not configured for
optimized delta pull'

Have followed all the documentation and set up the jobs to run for Delta
and Full variants. Each job is running the program (in a step) under
user id UWL_SERVICE as directed. I can not create the jobs with this
user id because it's not a dialog user.

Has anyone else run into this problem?

Regards,

Thomas Maue
