Intermittent Events not triggering from Event Queue

Sue,
It was intermittent. We have a few different ways to scan and attach
documents to our business object. If the business object was in change
mode when we attached the scanned doc and then we manually saved the
business object, then the commit work was done through that action and
the event was raised. If we were in display mode in the business object
when the scanned doc was attached then there was no commit work and the
event was not raised.
There was another note that we applied, 1117903, which corrected another
problem; however when I checked yesterday SAP now has this note in
status "The requested SAP Note is either in reworking or is released
internally only".

All the notes seemed to deal with missing 'commit work's.

Thanks Marcia for your reply.

We are already on a Support Package greater than what the note applies,
but this sounds exactly like what is happening.

Did it happen intermittently with you or did it happen all of the time?

Sue,
We had the same problem which was fixed when we applied OSS Note
1094064.

Symptom
You are using the transaction OAAD -> Store and Assign, to save new
documents. After the document has been saved successfully, the event
ASSIGNED is not generated. This occurs, even if in transaction OAG1, the
option "Generate Event <Object type>.ASSIGNED" is enabled.

Hi John,

Thanks for your response.

I've checked SWEQADM and everything looks fine. We upgraded over a year
ago and have not had any issues until about a month ago.

Sue,

Did you look at the Event Queue Administration (SAP Transaction
SWEQADM). Click the tab "Linkages with Errors". You might want to
review the Basic Data tab also. Especially the Receiver Error Feedback
value. I had a problem with this when we updated to ECC 5.0 a few years
back.

Hope this helps,

We're on ECC6.

We have workflows that are triggered when certain document types are
scanned into SAP. The scanning of the image triggers the PREL ASSIGNED
event. Up until recently there were no issues.

In the last month or so, some of the events are not being triggered. I
can see that the images were stored with the Employee in SAP, but no
event was triggered by the scanning.

I've been looking at the Event trace and can find no errors and no
evidence that the event was triggered for the images that were scanned
but no workflow was started.

There is no rhyme or reason for the missing workflows. We'll go along
for a while and all will be fine and then I'll get emails that workflows
were not triggered on different dates.

Is there anywhere else I can look...tables, transactions, etc? Could it
be with the way that the background job is set up that delivers the
events? I have it running every six minutes. We have all kinds of
events (hundreds of them) triggered during the day....could it be an
overload of events at one time? Do events that are not delivered get
dropped if the background job is still delivering events when the next
job starts six minutes later?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
