Hello Stuart.

Adding approver for n-step BADI workflow should work just fine. It works in our system. Make sure you have all the latest notes applied. There was a note issued just yesterday for an issue I reported to OSS (BADI workflow and held purchase orders).

Subject: SRM Shopping Cart Approval preview - Approver added before BADI determined Approver Question?

Hi,

Could anyone please confirm if an implementation of the BADI: BBP_WFL_APPROV_BADI and the Workflow Template for Approval Shopping Cart n-Level (BADI) is created then the Shopping Cart Approval preview Add Approver actually works OR should it be disabled if using the above scenario.

We are currently experiencing problems using the above if an Approver is manually added before the BADI determines an Approver - in this scenario the Workitem is only sent to the manually added Approver and once approved, no further Workitem is created for the system determined approver.
If an Approver is added after the BADI determines an Approver, then this works ok and 2 step levels of approval workitem are created.

Thanks and regards,
