Deadline Monitoring

Hi 

I?m having a problem in deadline monitoring when work item is generated 
the I?m using a program(RSWUWFML2)  to send a mail to approver, then if 
approver missed the to approve within 3 days then work item will be 
removed from approver inbox and placed in Alternate approver then once 
again he missed the dead line the I?m sending a mail to creator in between 
 this i will be running a program (RSWUWFML2) to send a work item as a 
mail but here I?m getting two mail 1. Work item mail and 2. Missed 
Deadline Work item mail but now I need to ignore the 2 mail to alternate 
inbox.

Please help me how to resolve this issue.
