Function call from task vs. workflow template

Hello all,

I have a very strange behaviour I would like to share.
I have function ZTEST which updates production order via batch-input.
The function works well via SE37.
I've created method BUS2005.ZTEST which call function ZTEST, testing through SWO1 works well.
I've created task for this method - testing through SWUS works well.
I've integrated this task in workflow template - testing through SWUS does not work, the production order is not updating at all. I've debugged it and it appears the function is called in the same way. However, working through the workflow template ends with no update.

Anyone experienced similar behaviour?
