Deepak,

The Latest End deadline will achieve what you want. Even Executed
(Committed) work items will be escalated.

Deepak,

If you have the "bible" (Practical Workflow for SAP) check the appendix
A.10.2. They talk about a deadline scenario where a check is made to
see if the work item has completed. This may help you out.

Sherie

Sherie,

Does Latest End work differently then Latest Start and keeps the
deadline till the workitem is completed, I doubt? Also having a Latest
start in the following step would not work since the deadline of the
following step will only start when the previous decision task
completes.

Deepak,

I could be wrong, but I think the deadline is for action, not completion
of the step. If they have opened the work item, they have taken some
action, even if it is not the desired action. Perhaps you could put a
Latest End on the same step, or a Latest Start on the following step?

Sherie

Hi,

I haven't received any updates on my question below

can anyone please suggest.

I short my question is the deadline monitoring no longer exists after
the workitem is been partially executed(which shows the outcome options
only) and the user chooses nothing to do and just keeps the workitem in
his Inbox. logically the deadline should be still active since the
workitem is not completely executed?

Subject: Deadline Monitoring

HI All,

I have couple of concerns in my workflow in regards to deadline
monitoring

When a decision workitem with latest start deadline monitoring is
executed but even though instead of processing if we choose the decision
option "Cancel and Keep Work Item in Inbox" the deadline monitoring is
deleted from the Table for Deadline Monitoring of Work Items. is there
any way to still hold the deadline monitoring after executing just
choosing "Cancel and Keep Work Item in Inbox" ?

Also I have a dialog workitem with method using call transaction and
latest end deadline monitoring. the task is asyn, ends with a
terminating event from the tcode called. now when the user updates
nothing in the called transaction then the terminating event does not
trigger hence the workitem still remains in the inbox but the deadline
monitoring terminates. is there a way to hold this deadline monitoring
since no action is taken and workitem is in Inbox
