New ABAP editor?

It involves both the gui and the system. In order to get the new editor
you need sapgui 6.40 (I forgot what patch level) or higher and a NW2004
system (I thought I'd heard that you could do it on 4.7, but I've not
checked that out.).

Thanks,

I was told it was due to sapgui 640. (No mention the system)
I now know that you need >4.6C to get the new editor.

So, you are saying I can get to the new editor without SAPGUI 640? i.e.
via 620?

Hi,

You could see it as a sign that SAP may be moving on from BORing objects
to something with a bit more class.
(Note: I have no insider knowledge on this whatsoever, just my opinion).

This editor was a great example of the 'power of the community'.
Originally delivered with ECC, Thomas Jung and a couple of folks on SDN
backported it to 640 and SAP eventually included it as a hotpack.

Rick - It may be that you're logging onto different systems. This has
nothing to do with the GUI.

Cheers,
Mike
