WDA, UWL and Extended Notification Issues.

Hi Ramki,
I'm skating on thin ice as far as portal knowledge goes. J
I would rather go with a 'standard' URL using the pcd or role rather than
something that calls javascript. No concrete reason other than I prefer to
use 'regular' urls that can be parsed and modified dynamically if needed.
The quicklink option looks interesting, but I am not sure what he's talking
about. I had a quick play and couldn't find it...
Cheers,
Mike

Thanks Mike! My post
<https://forums.sdn.sap.com/message.jspa?messageID=5929975> on SDN got two
slightly different answers but both work. They do the job by navigating to
the UWL iview.
Is there any disadvantage in this?
Regards,
Ramki.

Almost, it's NavigationTarget (when can we look forward to a unified naming
standard...?).
The rest of the path will differ per implementation. E.g. the UWL in an
ESS/MSS context may look like:
https://yourcompany.com:8000/irj/portal/?NavigationTarget=ROLES://portal_con
tent/something/something
/something/com.sap.pct.erp.mss.work_overview_page/com.sap.pct.erp.mss.uwl
In a non-ESS setup you'll have different target views, and the 'somethings'
depend on your portal structure. Tell your portal guy to learn faster :-)
Cheers,
Mike

I think the parameter is NAVIGATION_TARGET - you might find something
in the help or someone else might have a little example
Start with a link to the portal anyway.

Thanks Jocelyn!
3) - The client does not have an experienced Portal person on the
team.
The person is learning on the job and wasn't able to give me what I
needed. :-(
1) and 2) - I thought the same. Hopefully I can get that link to UWL
figured out. :-)
Regards,
Ramki.

3) Talk to your portal guys... It's easy - It's just about getting
them
to give you the correct navigation target.
1) and 2) - I never use this - much better practice and process to
always send collective emails with a link to the UWL and turn off the
execute/display links.

Jocelyn

Environment (x)RPM 4.5 (NW2004S-SP14) with EP7-SP13 and UWL.
The requirement is to configure eMail notification for a task with
WDA
and a User Decision task using the UserDecisonNote property. Need to
provide executable attachment/link for the workitems. I am not
certain
if that is possible and wondering if any one could provide answers to
the following.
1) The possible values for "SHOW_ACTION_EXECUTE_AS" in SWNCONFIG
Subscription Settings are either SAP GUI for Windows or SAP GUI for
HTML. Does this mean it is not possibel to provide a WI execution
link
for a WDA Task that is executed in the Browser? I tried with both the
options and do get an URL in the mail that points to the correct WDA
application. Here is the catch - the parameters are:
WI_ID=000000065657&WI_ID=${item.externalId} and the application only
sees the last one and fails.
2) How to provide a link that launches the decision task in UWL so as
to
force the entry of Rejection Text?
3) How can I find/determine the URL for UWL to provide a value to
INBOX_LINK_URL in General Settings of SWNCONFIG?
Best Regards,
Ramki Maley.
