Checking WF template versions

Well, yes. Or no.

To be honest I don't really understand the point. If it is the case that
you need to do this then it's not really a question specific to workflow,
right?
You really need to go through every piece of work that has been done,
because one ABAP calls another which calls another which calls another....
This is the whole point behind the transport system.

There's an easier way though: It's called thorough testing.
