ECC 6.0 upgrade error - source & target structure does not match

I am testing our upgraded SBX - ECC6.0.

I have a method in a workflow that will get the userid of a position by
calling function module RH_STRUC_GET. 

The workflow works fine in 4.7, but in ECC6.0, I'm getting the error
message:  "The source and target structure have a different number of
fields" when it execute the task that calls this method.

When I execute the method via SWO1, the method returns the expected
results.  When I execute the workflow which calls the method, it fails.

Anyone else had this issue while upgrading?
