Invalid execution GUID. Work item could not be executed

Hi Sue,

Thanks for your response.

That is what I was thinking I would have to do. I've never used before
and after methods before. I was wondering if I put the ENQUEUE in a
Before method to lock the work item, would the task be able to be
executed or would it get a locked work item message?

Hi Sue,

I tried to follow the mail trail, but may not have quite gotten all the
details..

Maybe you could write a before and an after custom method and use them
on the Methods tab of your workflow task ?
Otherwise, copy your existing method into a custom one, and add the
calls to ENQUEUE and DEQUEUE around that code ?

Just thinking aloud here...

Hi Ravi,

I was playing around with these again and was able to get the
DEQUEUE_E_WORKITEM to work.

How would I incorporate these into the workflow? I'm assuming I would
create methods for them, but where would you execute them? I hope this
isn't a stupid question....but for the life of me, I can't think of how
you would do it.

Hi Ravi,

Thank you for your response.

I was playing around with these and could lock the work item with
ENQUEUE_E_WORKITEM, but could not get it unlocked with
DEQUEUE_E_WORKITEM. I ran them with the default parameters and just
entered the work item number. Am I using the wrong parameters? (By the
way, I'm not an ABAPer. I can only do very simple things in ABAP.)

Another question I have is if someone executes the work item and then
'X's out of the Web page instead of processing it, the workflow cannot
detect that, can it? Then the workflow will remain locked and no one
can execute it again because it is locked.

Thanks so much for your help.

Hi Sue

You need to use the ENQUEUE FM to lock and DEQUEUE FM to unlock for the
E_WORKITEM lock object.

Let use know how you go.

Ravi
