Parametric deadline

i just  implemented a similar requirement ,i created a new BO ZDEADLINE which would read offset froma  a ztable and calculate the deadline time and deadline date as per the values in the table.

Hello all,
 
A customer of mine wishes to control the deadline offset for every step as master data. Meaning he would like to have a table for which he could maintain deadline offset per task. For the best of my knowledge such require further development.
My current investigation is to try using object type WORKITEMGI and enhancing it.
 
Has anyone tried something like this before? any recommendation? userexit while workitem creation?
