Hi Jocelyn,

I thought ITS was *not* integrated into 6.20. Do you know which service
I have to activate in SICF and point to in the system alias config? Is
there any doco on that somewhere (I didn't find anything on sdn).

Thanks a lot and regards,

Patrick

Hi Patrick,

Check the System Alias you are using to connect to your backend system
is configured correctly.

And remember that even in a 6.20 your ITS is essentially just another
service in transaction SICF - it is not a separate server.

Hi Mike,

But then what am I missing? When I try to register my connection in UWL
config I am getting the following messages:
(Connector) :com.sap.netweaver.bc.uwl.connect.ConnectorException:Mon May
21 21:52:55 CEST 2007
(Connector) :javax.resource.ResourceException:Failed getting the
following function metadata from repository: URL_SERVER_TYPE_DATA_GET

I thought not having ITS might be the issue because SAP Help says a
prerequisite to configure UWL is that "Each connected SAP system for
back end system (below release 7.0, WP-PI plug-in 6.0) has the
connection to its respective SAP Internet Transaction Server (ITS)".

Hope you (or anyone else) can shed some light on this.

Thanks in advance and kind regards,
Patrick

Hi Patrick,

This is certainly possible since the UWL itself doesn't run on ITS.

Where you may run into trouble is if you are trying to execute non-webby
workitems that call transactions. To my knowledge these tasks use WebGUI
rendered using the ITS. If all you're using are Java, Decisions, BSPs
and
other web tasks then you're a-ok.

In 640 onwards ITS is integrated into the WAS so all your problems will
disappear.

Hope that helps,
Mike
