Help: Container element not populating

Hi,
  We are facing a strange problem in production Env. Workflow has a
background step with a method which populates a container element. This step
is working fine in development environment.Also when object method is
executed in foreground it sets the container element as required. But this
container element is not getting populated when triggered from
workflow.Binding is correct. Can anybody suggest why is this happening.
