Object missing in Workflow

Thanks for the good tip.
Tried to put an extra background step, simple BKPF.EXISTENCECHECK

But now the wf goes right into error. 
Enclosed is a bit of the tech. log. If you look at the text of wi no. 1077070 you see that the attributes are filled, is it right to assume that the data is passed onto the container ? Also in the container view of the log all data apears to be filled & passed correctly for this background step.

The error text of the EXECUTE_METHOD_BOR  error (last line in the pasted log) reads: object not found.
Looks like an OSS issue maybe, contacted them this afternoon, still any opinion or feedback is appreciated.
