Enque/Deque Work Items

Hi,
 
I have developed a program for mass maintenance of Work Items using which users can change container data elements. I was looking for a way to Enque/Deque work items but all that I could find was function module SAP_WI_ENABLE and SAP_WI_DISABLE for locking the work item against execuction and unlocking the work items. 

Has anybody worked or has some information on similar stuff for Enque/Deque Work items?
