Enable UWL - only for few tasks?

Re... "customized using web dynpro which involves lots of work" - no it
doesn't if you make the most of transaction SWFVISU. It's actually a lot
harder to use WebDynpro from the standard SAP Inbox.

And as for getting buy-in ... go above their heads... what you want is
to get senior management on side by talking about the benefits of easier
support, better flexbility, better customization, etc. Get senior
management involved in picking the guinea pigs.

Thanks Jocelyn!

Yes, I thought of rolling it to selected users but our customers wants
most of the tasks to be customized using web dynpro which involves lots
of work. And also I am finding tough to get the buy in from all business
areas to use UWL. That's the reason I was wondering if there is any
other option so that I can divide & rule and eventually bring everyone
to use UWL. :-)

No... That's not a good approach. The UWL shows ALL work items for the
inbox of the associated user. Attempting to limit by workflow would be
difficult if not impossible and would involve significant development
work.

A better approach would be to pilot the UWL with a selected group of
users - which you could easily control by assigning those users to a
Portal role that gives them the UWL iview. Then once you are confident,
roll the UWL out to a wider audience.

All

We are thinking of implementing UWL in our system (ECC 6.0\EP 7.0) in
multiple phases. In first phase, enable UWL for only few workflows and
depending on the feedback, add other workflows. Is it possible to
implement this idea? Please let me know.

Thanks!
