Workflow for Parked Documents

Hi Swathi,

FIPP.CREATED event is not triggered by default when
you park a FI document. There are different ways to
achieve the objective of raising this event when FI
document is created

1. using SPRO configuraions
2. BTE ( Business Transaction Events) - BTE is a sort
of enhancement mechanism specifially for FI area. 

using approach 1, you need to do following to raise
FIPP.CREATED

1. creating workflow variant using OBWA
   in this config, you need to enable 'Posting
Release' and need to mention above which value
documents needs explicit release through workflow
2. assigning company codes to workflow variants - OBWJ
3. defining release approval groups/paths using SPRO
4. assignment of release approval path to workflow
variant and doc types - OBWD

Please check with your FI consultant, they should be
able to help you in setting up release group/paths.
All the above config is available in SPRO path
Financial Accounting -> Financial Accounting Global
settings -> Document -> Document Parking

After doing above, switch on event trace and create
your scenarion of new FI document parking. You shoud
be able to find the FIPP.CREATED event triggered.

as per OBWD setting, only for the mentioned document
types event should be triggered. However sometimes
OBWD setting doesn't get effective and event will be
rasied for all types of document types ( KR, KG, SA,
SB, SC etc). To have this OBWD setting effective, you
need to implement SAP note 559276 so that event will
be triggered only for the mentioned doc types in OBWD.


2. Using BTE approach

check the BTEs 00002213, 2214, 2218. These are
relevant to DOCUMENT PARKING. Check the sample
implementations, you should be able to raise the event
using FM.


I have implemented the workflows for FI documents
using approach 1 and i am successful in doing this.
However approach 2 is also very suitable.
