Workflow Log Display

Hi,
I have a requirement where the end user wants to see the workflow log to
see the status of the approval process.
For this I can change my step by not displaying in Workflow Log.

But if there is any problem in the production I want to see at which
step 
Its stuck and more details of the process.

How can I customize such that the administrator can see all the details
of the log and the end user does not see the background steps etc which
I customize in the Workflow.

I am on 4.7
