i thought that's what you wanted isn't it. Get popup to enter reason code when the person rejects the document.

Hi Vijay,
Thanks for ur suggestion. I tried in the same way. Created the FM to get a pop-up and implemented in custom BO. But, when we reject the document, it's giving the pop-up. Am i missing anything?

Thanks
Lakshmi

Hi Lakshmi,

In this case, why don't you look at the business object method which the standard task is using. Then copy the method into a Z MEthod, and then check in your Z Method, if the user is rejecting. In the same method give a pop to the user to give a rejection reason (popup_to_get_value FM), and pass the result through binding back to the workflow container.

Regards,

Vijay

Hi Lakshmi,

If you are going to use a specific application to execute your work item then that application would have to provide the ability to enter the reason itself. So you need to look at the configuration/user exits/BADIs for that application. Or else create your own alternative application such as a webdynpro application that covers both the standard function and your additional requirement. This would be a development issue rather than a workflow issue.

Hi Jocelyn,

Thanks for your response. I am using std task 7914 for Approval. In case, if the approver rejects it, he must give reason with Max. of 50CHAR length. The same must be passed to Custom BO, which will be used for some other purpose. Let me know the suitable method to achieve this.

Thanks
Lakshmi

If you are using the Universal Worklist - please use the UWL XML configuration option "User Decision with Note". This is a much cleaner option as it does not require a separate step for the attachment. You can make the attachment mandatory for particular responses, e.g. rejection. You can even use this technique for work items that are NOT user decisions. Details on the XML required are in help.sap.com under the Advanced Configuration for the Universal Worklist.

Lakshmi,

I use SELFITEM.NOTE_CREATE (Create attachment) to obtain the rejection reason from the person rejecting.

Hi WF Gurus,

I am using workflow to approve/reject the parked documents (FB01/FB50). Incase, if approver 'Reject' the document, it should ask for reject reason in the pop-up window. Can any one suggest, what BO & Method can be used to achieve this.

Thanks in advance
Regards
Lakshmi
