Hi,

I had the same problem some months ago. Have a look at note 946100.

Hi Koenraad:

Thank you for raising an interesting question. Here is what I have found
based on my tests (on Basis 620):

1. I see the same thing as you saw about the fact: When we have Step A
followed by Step B and we want to allow the agent to execute Step B's work
item immediately after completing Step A's workitem, without having to
return to the inbox, we must check the Advance with dialog indicator on
Step B, not on Step A. I guess that this behavior has been so with earlier
releases.

2. It seems that SAP does not allow the dialog chain feature when Step B
uses an async task. With an async task, the indicator is always checked and
grayed out, and I have to go back to the inbox to execute Step B's workitem.
I do not understand why SAP has chosen to do it this way. (If the the
Advance with dialog indicator were to be done on Step A instead of Step B,
SAP would have good reason not allow the feature when Step A uses an async
task.)

Thanks,

Larry Hu

Subject: behaviour & design "advance with dialog" switch

Hello

First of all we did some experimenting with the advance with dialog switch.
Some parts of the sap help indicate that this switch has it's effect on the
next task however we see that it has it's effect on the task it is activated
(or deactivated) on. Does somebody know if this behaviour been changed
between the various releases?

(we are on 620)

The reason we've been tinkering with it is the following: We have an (older)
task in the system where this switch has been activated on and we wish to
deactivate it as it shouldn't start immediately after the previous task.
However this switch is grayed out in change mode so we are unable to
deactivate it. The only possible reason (difference with others) we see is
that this task executes an asynchronious method. Anybody have an idea how
we could manipulate the switch? (without doing it on table level) Does
anybody have a logical reason for graying out this field?

Met vriendelijke groeten,
Salutations,
Best regards,
Mit freundlichen Grüssen,
Atentos saludos,
Agur bero bat,
