SAP Standard Workflow for Leave Request - Does anyone have a clue

 Dear SWUG members,

We are running on SAP BASIS 640. 

The sap standard template for leave request approval is active; Approval
is done via UWL in SAP portal. Issue is that after approval, work items
are not cleared from approver's inbox (even after manual refresh). 
I wonder if anyone has come across such...
