Delivery of Workflow Approval Notifications and tasks In a UWL Scenario

Hi Jocelyn,

I put a small blog about this on www.sdn.sap.com today. Yes, we're
looking for users or ISVs or consulting houses wanting to integrate
office mails generated by workflow (e.g. "vacation request was
accepted") into the the UWL.

And we're also offering to help anyone wanting to integrate non-SAP
tasks (or alerts or work items depending on your point of view) into the
UWL.

There's a painless form to fill in and then (providing you're accepted)
we can either support you on the project or send you the API and provide
minimal remote support if you need it.

Sue - can you see the beetroot colour of my face? I don't know how I
failed to post this to your forum earlier.

Best regards,

Alan Rickayzen
SAP AG

BTW: Opening has opened in SDN about what you would like to see in the
way of presentations at SAP Teched. There's one or two process-oriented
presentations (and a UWL integration presentation ) so make yourself
heard.

Hi Jerry,

If you contact Alan Rickayzen, there's a UWL SAP Office Connector now
available - currently on a project by project basis.
This sends SAP Office mails to the UWL, so you can use it to deliver
your notifications to the UWL.
This is relatively new and there are a few conditions around taking it
on so please talk to Alan.

You can still echo the SAP Office mails to Outlook if you require that
too of course.

You should still use Enhanced Notifications to send a collective email
with a link back to the UWL - i.e. to tell the user
work has arrived in the inbox.

Subject: Delivery of Workflow Approval Notifications In a UWL Scenario

Hi,

I have a general question regarding the delivery of workflow approval
request in a UWL scenario. I'm installing workflow in a new SAP
implementation ( NW2004S, ECC 6 and SRM5) where MS Outlook is the
organization's standard mail program.

The assumption is that the approvers (SC, Trip, Timesheet, ... ) will
only go to the UWL when they have a waiting approval request.

My question is what is the best approach for delivering these approval
notifications? Is it best to use the notification program with a URL to
the UWL or email ALERTs?

Regards,

Jerry Martinek
