filling multiline event container element with internal table entries

Hi folks,
 
I filling the event container from a program with 
 
container-element 'BELNR'.
container-value l_belnr.
append container.
 
How would the syntax look like for a multiline event container element? How
would it look like if I use a structure as a field reference (multiline)?
