Hi Anke Libeton,
  Thanks for your reply. As you've rightly said , inorder to execute the workitem, the agent should be in the possible agent list. 
   
  Although,  the agent is in the possible agent list, still he cannot execute the deadline workitem. Since, the execute option in the monitored workitem is greyed out.
   
  Plese help to resolve this issues of enabling the execute menu option in the monitored workitem.
