How to delete a work item by ABAP ?

   Depending on what you mean by 'Delete' & what version you're on, try:

SAP_WAPI_WORKITEM_DELETE, 
SAP_WAPI_ADM_WORKFLOW_CANCEL, 
SWP_WORKFLOW_INSTANCE_DELETE, 
SWP_WORKFLOW_INSTANCE_CANCEL,
SWP_WORKFLOW_ITEM_CANCEL.
