Workflow for SD

Hello,

I am quite new to workflow, and I need some directions.

We have an ECC 5.0 system, and we have to build some workflows in SD.

So, basicly when a sales order is complete, it should be approved by the
responsible user, then the responsible user should do the delivery and then
another,  the  invoice, after they got an message throught workflow, and
finally another person should print it. 

In case of sales order, if for some position, for some materials there is no
stock available then another workflow should be trigger to MM, for an
acquisition. 

Maybe you could give me some starting points, regarding maybe what business
object should I use with what methods.

I know for example, that for sales order I can use BUS2032, but how can I
know if it is approved or not, should I do a subtype and delegate it with
some new atributes? Or is another solution ?
