Executing Workflow from Web

Hi Akshay,
Try to think of a form as just a UI presenting data.

Underneath the UI you can e.g. raise a workflow event to start a
workflow.

Equally, if you have a web-capable application that can display/edit
your form, workflow can call that as a step in the workflow.

I believe there will be some sessions at teched on this.

You can call an Adobe form from a WebDynpro app. If you have an ECC5 or
higher, there are standard WebDynpro apps provided which use the ISR
approach to configure the form and provide the backend processing and
BADIs.

There is some material on this in the SDN BPM forum so suggest you ask
there too.

Subject: Executing Workflow from Web

Hi

I have not worked on forms part regarding workflow.

I have a scenario where in when a workflow is started, work items are
required to be executed from Portal. Here underlying tasks when the work
item is executed, will be a form ( which might be used to display or
modify the data.)

Wanted to know what approach has to be taken so that workflow can be
executed from web?
I understand in case of NW04s, we have Adobe forms. Also wanted to know
how Adobe form technique can be used in case of Workflow?

Thanks in advance
Regards,

Akshay Bhagwat

On NW04s best form option is Adobe
Another is to use Guided Procedures and a WebDynpro form. You could
perhaps use this and then call an RFC to raise a workflow event
afterwards.

But look at Adobe seriously.

Subject: simple Forms vs ??

Hallo,

i would like to set up a "simple" approval workflow in FI-AA; the user
wants to request a change to the costcenter; this should be approved by
someone, and if approved, the asset should be changed.

I'm not familiar with workflow, so i thougt it's a good idea to use
"simple forms" - turns out they are not that simple :-)

After some googling i found the Cookbook from Jocelyn Dart: "Using Form
Steps in SAP's WebFlow Engine", i also searched this MailingList for
"simple Forms".

The cookbook and the entries in the mailing list i found are kind of old
and seem to me outdated - we are using NW04s/700.
1) is simple Forms the way you would realise the above mentioned
scenario or is there a better/newer/easier way to do this workflow?
2) i wanted to use a BAPI to change the asset; but i have no idea how i
could execute the BAPI after the form step with proper bapitables filled
- i created a new workitem so i would be able to change costcenter. How
can i fill the BAPI tables with the fields from the form-container? is
that possible at all?

Best Regards,

Juergen
