Hi Claude,

At your release level there are several SAP_WAPI_SUBSTITUT... prefixed
function modules which
may be helpful for you.

The expiry scenario should be easy enough - just run a batch job to
assess HRUS_D2 entries due to expire.

The came-back-early scenario might be better handled by including some
sort of "Note: You have active substitutes" message on a welcome page of
your portal.
Talk to your portal guys about this.

Hi Claude,
For the second scenario you could run a report on the table where
the substitutions are stored. I think its HRUS_D2, but it might be
somewhere else with the newer UWL substitution.

Subject: Substitutions

Greetings WUGers

We are on 4.7 R/3 Enterprise, Basis 6.2, EP 6.0 SP14.

ESS is already up and running and we're adding MSS with UWL.

We're setting up substitutions and I have 2 questions that came up
during discussions with HR and Manager key users.

1. In Outlook, you get a reminder when you return if you let your "Out
of Office Assisant" on. How can we mimic this in Workflow? That is, when
the manager sets up substitution for 3 weeks of vacation but only takes
2.
2. On the receiving end, a manager completes another manager's work
items because of an extended leave. If the leave was estimated at 1
month but gets prolonged, the replacement manager will "stop" receiving
the WF items after a month. This time, we're looking for a reminder
saying "you're stint as a substitute will expire on ..."

Any ideas?

Thanks.
