Change priority of workflow task

Look at object method FLOWITEM.SETPRIORITY.
 
I used this awhile back, it seems to be working and I don't recall any problems with it. I did create my own task based on that method.

Is it possible to change the priority of workitem task dynamically? I want to change the priority of a workitem depending on a container element value. 
Any help will be appreciated.
