Hi Paul,
Yes you must have a unique approval object guid for each combination of
line items at each approval level.

All line items are approved at level 1, when all items have been
approved at level 1, approval at level 2 commences, and so on and so
forth.

So in your case, item 1 gets product category manager approval at level
1, item 2 is effectively "auto-approved" at level 1. Once the product
category manager has approved item 1, both items will be sent for cost
center manager approval at level 2. You should also be seeing this
behaviour in the approval preview if you have coded the BADI correctly.

Subject: SRM 4.0 (EBP 5.0) n step item level - WF - WS14500015 -
Approval Index Issue

Hi:

I am not sure if this is a Shopping Cart Approval BADI,
BBP_WFL_APPROV_BADI,
issue or an issue with WS14500015, n-step item level WF, used for
Shopping
Cart.

Example:

Shopping Cart with Two Line Items -

Line Item 1 Approval by the Product Category Manager - Approval
Level 1,
Approval by the Cost Center Manager - Approval
Level 2.

Line Item 2 Does not have a Product Category Manager - No Approval -
Approval Level 1,
Approval by the Cost Center Manager - Approval Level 2.

In the SRM Shopping Cart Line Item Approval WF, only Line Item 1,
Product
Category Manager at Approval Level 1, is receiving the approval work
item.
The Cost Center Manager for Line Item 2, is dependent on the approval of
the
Product Category Manager for line item 1 , before receiving his work
item.

Since this is line item approval, I assumed that each line item could be
approved at each approval level, independent of the other line item's
approval levels.

I am also assuming that I can not mix approval objects ( Product
Category,
Cost Centers, Inventory) on the same Approval level.

Any thoughts or solutions on how to correct this issue would be greatly
appreciated.

Thanks,
