Help SWEL - work item button

In 4.7 there is a button in the even log which takes you straight to the workflow from the event...

I have seen this too. Some events do have the button for the work item while others do not. 
 
Perhaps it has to do with the way the event or workflow is raised? If it is done Asynchronously then there is no way for the SAP code that writes to the event log to know the work item ID. But if its synchronous then it can write the work item ID.
 
I really don't know if that is it, I am just guessing....
