Interactive Forms(Adobe) workflows with the Enterprise 4.7 backend system

Hello All! 

does anyone has an experience or an idea about the following:

client is on the Enterprise 4.7 system, but want to use the Interactive forms (Adobe) to automate the HR processes. Upgrade to Netweaver is not an option for the next 5 years at least. 

so, their idea is to install brand new netweaver'04 system and run the forms from it using RFCs and bapis to communicate with the backend 47 to read and update data. Also, most (practically all) their forms come with some sort of the approval/review process that needs to be automated as well. 

Has anybody implemented the similar scenario?

considering the scenario, i got several questions regarding the possible workflow implementation. Please see if you can help me with any ideas:

1. considering this scenario and from your experience, what system are the workflows should be developed and run in? The Netweaver'04 or the backend enterprise 47?

My guess is the workflows need to be developed in the Netweaver system to be able to use the Interactive forms functionality... Is this correct? Can the workflows, involving the processing steps for the Adobe Interactive forms, be developed and run in the backend Enterprise 4.7 system at all?

2. If the workflow need to be developed and run in the new Netweaver'04 system, how the role resolution can be implemented (all users, org structure and master data are in 4.7 backend)? Role Resolution Fm with RFC calls to 4.7?

3. Would it be possible to use the Netweaver'04 collaboration framework with the backlink to 4.7?
