Hi John, 
A general philosophy applies: Always use SAP_WAPI's unless they aren't up to
the job... WAPI's are supported by SAP, with the rest you're on your own. 

You'd typically use the SWE_EVENT_CREATE* modules if you have specific
requirements regarding update timing or other strange stuff....
